Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi to Maasai village

After breakfast at around 7 am, our tour guide shall come and pick you up at your residence or pickup point and later drive you to the Maasai village. Upon arrival at the village, you shall be welcomed by a Maasai elder who shall literally be your guide. The Maasai always excite their visitors by giving them the welcome that they deserve. You shall be highly welcomed with excitement on the Maasai’s faces. You shall start by visiting the Maasai homestead. The Maasai are cattle-keepers, and their life is mostly centred on cattle. Their homestead, the cowshed, is located in the middle, and every Maasai home is built around the cowshed. The Maasai understand security—their villages are surrounded by dead thorny acacias to keep away lions and leopards from attacking their cattle. It is amazing that the Maasai houses are built by ladies who cut sticks, interweave them, and later plaster the walls with cow dung. The houses always have rooms for the adults, the kitchen, and the children’s room, which is always the same as that of the lambs. You shall appreciate their architecture once you step inside the Maasai home. You shall witness the Maasai warrior dance which involves jumping to great heights. You shall participate in this wonderful dance-how high can you jump? Later, the Maasai are known for lighting fire without a match box. They use stones. You shall be showed how it is done. There are several art works that the Maasai make. Actually, they have beautiful beads. You shall be in position to buy some as souvenirs. After a wonderful trip with the Maasai, you shall drive back to Nairobi to Mark the end of this awesome Maasai trip.
